Following graduation from the Southern Carleton Regional High School, Richard began employment with The Carleton Memorial Hospital where he moved through the ranks into senior management, eventually serving as facility manager at the time of it closure in 2007.
Providing people focused service has become a standard to Richard, first in his father’s livestock business, during his years in health care, as an owner of the Britton Funeral home and through his service to community and church.
